BURGUNDY GÎTE
| Set in some of France's most beautiful and interesting countryside, "Sous les Roches" is a family house at the top of the quiet and tiny village of Ecorsaint. The village is perched on the side of a hill and has no through road making it an ideal place to take children. At the top of the hill behind the gite there are approximately 100 square kilometres of unspoilt country with gorgeous views across the hills and valleys. From the vineyards of the Côte d'Or, only one hour's drive away to the south east, to the natural park of the Morvan to the south, the châteaux of Tanlay and Ancy le Franc to the west and the source of the Seine to the north, there is a varied and virtually inexhaustible choice of interesting things to visit. On the other hand you may just prefer to lounge on "Sous les Roches's" secluded patio and take it easy. |
| "Sous les Roches" has a well-equipped and sizeable kitchen, a comfortable sitting room, two bedrooms (one twin and one with big double bed), two bathrooms, and a simple "den" complete with ping pong table and a washing machine! There is also a telephone for all incoming calls and local outgoing calls. |
| Ecorsaint has no shopping facilities but there are two big supermarkets and most other shops ten minutes drive down the road in Les Laumes. At the foot of Flavigny, five minutes drive away, there is a vineyard, Vignoble de Flavigny, where you can taste and buy wine. |
